Workshop Foreman
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Foreman in a full time capacity, based at our Ayr branch. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an experienced technician or existing Foreman who enjoys mentoring others, leading from the front and driving workshop performance.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Trade qualification in Diesel Fitting, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or Mobile Plant Technology
- Strong experience working on agricultural machinery and equipment
- Proven technical diagnostic and fault-finding capability
- Previous experience mentoring or leading technicians and apprentices
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with productive workshop time
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship and customer service
- Current Driver Licence
- Forklift Licence
Experience working with John Deere or Agricultural equipment will be highly regarded.
Working closely with the Service Manager, you will support the day-to-day coordination of the service workshop while remaining actively involved in diagnostics, repairs and technical support across a broad range of machinery and equipment.
You will play a key role in supporting workshop productivity, apprentice development, quality workmanship and customer satisfaction, while helping build a strong and positive workshop culture.
This role balances technical productivity with leadership, coaching and operational support responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and support daily workshop operations
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Service Technicians and Apprentices
- Support workshop productivity, efficiency and labour performance targets
- Perform diagnostics, repairs and servicing on agricultural machinery and equipment
- Assist with workflow coordination and job allocation
- Promote a strong safety culture and high workshop standards
- Support apprentice development and on-the-job training
- Drive continuous improvement and reduction of rework
- Maintain strong communication with customers, Parts and Service teams
- Lead by example through professionalism, accountability and teamwork
