Employee Development Manager

Location: Flexible within our North Queensland dealership network for the right candidate.
To be successful as our Employee Development Manager, you will possess:
- A trade qualification as Diesel Mechanic (agricultural experience preferred)
- Cert IV Trainer and Assessor qualification (desirable)
- Proven experience delivering technical training to employees and customers
- Evidence sound IT skills in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly learn other systems and platforms
- Genuine passion in supporting employee development and driving performance excellence
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive working relationships
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Growth mindset; positive, proactive and professional
- Ability to travel throughout North Queensland
Reporting to the Human Resources Operations Manager, the Employee Development Manager will be responsible for delivering training in accordance with John Deere requirements, developing training plans and matrixes, and enacting strategies to ensure our employees are provided with upskilling opportunities throughout their employment journey. This role will also lead our Apprenticeship Program, supporting our apprentices to be the best they can be!
As our Employee Development Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Lead internal training development to meet John Deere requirements, including completing the JD Instructor Course to gain competency.
- Coordinate and deliver hands-on, localised training throughout our branches.
- Create and maintain training plans and matrixes, tracking progress and aligning with Honeycombes goals.
- Partner with Managers to ensure training keeps pace with evolving machinery technologies.
- Work closely with our Technical Communicator to identify skill gaps and deliver targeted training.
- Support employee onboarding and ongoing upskilling across all departments.
- Manage and continuously improve the Honeycombes Apprenticeship Program, ensuring it meets both regional and individual needs.
- Build strong relationships with local schools to support apprenticeship and work experience pathways.
- Collaborate with AASNs and STROs to support apprenticeships, and coordinate TAFE attendance with our Administration Officer.
